Both baked and steam char siu bao were excellent and tasty. Tab was reasonable as I bought enough for a family of 4 along with extra for snacks. Upon checkout the order was again repeated and I added a few extra items. Order was taken and then repeated to ensure understanding. Staff are friendly and helpful and efficient. It has a whole shrimp inside with other stuff. The bread is so soft with a little sweetness…COUPLED with the bbq meat in the middle….I could eat these every day. Ok.the pork buns are the best I’ve tried. We ordered bbq pork buns…shrimp dumplings…fried pork dumplings and pork dumplings Sui Mai. It’s to go only…the staff is so kind and wonderful…but they zip through the orders because they don’t want you waiting too long… It’s a small place in a shopping center…don’t let that fool you. Despite the cited health code violation, the place seemed like one of the nicer and cleaner Chinese resteraunts around.My daughter took me here to try this amazing food. We arrived at 11 AM on a Sunday, and got seated in fewer than 20 minutes. Everything tasted fresh, and nothing seemed greasy. The peanut pork dumplings were nothing special, and the Taro root horns were too pasty. Good Har Gow, shrimp balls covered in fried noodles, Steamed Pork Buns, and very good baked pork buns, chicken in fried rice flour dumplings, roast duck, radish cake, fried pork & shrimp buns, and stuffed eggplant. Granted i have not been to too many places, but its better than the few places i have tried in LA, which was surpriseing to say the least. I went here twice-once for work and once with friends-and the staff was pleasant both times. It's now our new favorite dim sum place over Holiday Villa, King's and Rice Bowl. Comments Though they have a meager parking lot in front (maybe a dozen spaces at most), on the weekends one can park in the lot across the street for free. It was closed for 2 weeks and reopened after a reinspection. In the summer of 2005, the restaurant was closed due to some run-ins with cockroaches and health code violations. New Canton Seafood Restaurant is a restaurant that serves Chinese food including dim sum.
